Birds Of Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a nice small country of South-Asia. It is a land of rivers and canals, forests and trees, hills and vales, flowers and fruits. The climate of this country is not so hot or not so cold. Bangladesh is a land of birds. We sleep at night and rise early in the morning hearing the sweet song of birds.

There are many kinds of birds in our country. They are different in colour, size and habit. They eat different kinds of food. Some birds live on worms and insects, some on fruits and grains, and some on fish and flesh. They are song birds, game birds, rapacious birds, teasing birds, migratory birds and tailor birds.

Teasing birds: Crows and kites are teasing birds. The crow steals away food and other small things from our kitchen. Yet it is useful. It feeds on dead animals and dirty things. The kite also steals away our chickens.                 

Song birds: There are many song birds in our country. They are cuckoo, the shyma, the doel, the koel, the baukatha-kao, and the nightingale. They are famous for their sweet song. The cuckoo sings very sweetly.       

Game birds: There are a lot of game birds in our country. They are the partridge, the dove, the pigeon, the snipe, the bittern, the heron and the teal. They are famous for their tasty flesh.                   

Talking birds: There are many talking birds in our country. They are the parrot, the mayna, the chandana, the kakatoa, and the martin. They are famous for their sweet talks. They can talk like human beings.

Tailor birds: There are some tailor birds in our country. They are the swallow, the tuntuni and the babui. They build their nests with great skill. They are famous for their skill. We wonder at their work.

Domestic birds: There are some domestic birds in our country. They are the pigeon, the hen, the cock and the duck. They provide us with flesh and eggs.

Migratory birds: At the beginning of winter a lot of migratory birds come to Bangladesh from Siberia. They visit different marshy lands of our country. At the end of winter some birds return to their native land. 

Night birds: There are some night birds in our country. The owl and the bat are night birds. They do not come out in broad day light. The owl and the bat fly at night. Both of them are harmless.

Fish eating birds: There are some fish eating birds in our country. The crane, the heron and the kingfisher are fish eating birds. They live beside canals, rivers and marshy lands. They eat small fishes.

Birds of prey: There are some birds of prey in our country. The vulture and the hawk are birds of prey. They have keen eyes and sharp nails. They swoop down upon their prey.  

Birds are the beauty of nature. They are our natural wealth. They are useful to us in many ways. So we should not kill tem at random. We should take care of them. 

Conclusion: Birds are very useful to us in many ways. We should be careful against birds hunting. They are the nice creatures of Allah. We should be kind to birds.
